We’re a little passed half way done with this year, and it’s crazy because I feel like the fun is just starting. After browsing over old photos, blog posts, text messages, etc. (and by “old” I mean from this past January), I’m for certain that I’m starting to get the hang of 2017.
I know we’ve still got time before the year ends… like a lot of time, but I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to all that this year has been so far.
I found the best people to share my laughs and memories with.
I lived in New York for six weeks.
I witnessed The 1975 in concert.
I watched an unreal amount of New Girl, and I have 0 regrets.
I read countless books in Madison Square Park.
Of those books, I read the unforgettable work of so many authors who have changed my perspective on the world, telling stories, and people.
I mastered the subway system— or at least the 6 and the R/W trains.
I got really into my blog for a hot minute (trying to get back on track I swear).
I started my second year of college. I also finished my first year of college. lol.
I changed my class schedule five times on the first day of school, and then another three during syllabus week just for good measure.
I listened to some freaking awesome bands. wow.
I enrolled in a creative writing class, and I’m challenging myself literally every day to take my writing more seriously.
I finally stopped looking to fall in love with someone.
Instead, I fell in love with the life I’m living. It’s been pretty great thus far.
This list of accomplishments probably seems really narcissistic, and if we’re being honest it is really narcissistic. The main point is that I feel like this year has flown by, and before I lose the chance to appreciate what the first half of 2017 offered me, I want to address it now.
Without being too cliche–although I’m sure I’ve already crossed that line at this point– I want to say how excited I am to finish the latter half of 2017. I hope it’s full of just as much fun and just as much adventure. I’ll keep you updated.
As always, thanks for reading,
