Hello all! So I can’t remember if I’ve already mentioned that I’m taking a creative writing class, but I’ll say it again just in case. I’m taking a creative writing class. With that being said, I have this poem that I wrote and made my friends listen to at least 15 times, and I thought it would be interesting to get some feedback on this blog. So read it and let me know what your thoughts are on its meaning, context, structure, and whatever.
Forewarning: I’m not a poet in any way shape or form, nor have I done any intensive studying on the topic. This is simply an assignment for my class and an experiment on my blog. Also, it’s written in free verse I think— again, not a poet.
gold member club
a scent that lingers
a familiar invitation for
a grip
a gulp
a swallow until the well is dry and once more
a craving.
a hollow heart rejects the venom
a protest prepared, but still
a tongue cannot resist
a sip from
a chalice presented by the convincing fiend in
a green bib.
a deal is made
a steep payment for the addiction and
a misspelled name—
a grande iced white mocha for Rachael
So that’s my poem.
Thanks for reading,
Rachel
I love it. And afraid you inherited the addiction from me. Loves

I’m here for it hahaa! The intensity of it to just lead towards a casual Starbucks run was kinda the best thing!!
